Do you feel something doesn’t fit, even though everything seems fine?

You’ve met expectations, reached goals and built a life. And still, you notice a distance between that life and the person living it.

El Ikigai que no te contaron (“The ikigai nobody told you about”) is an invitation to stop, look honestly and begin the way back to yourself. The book is in Spanish.

For you if you want to find your way back to yourself without becoming someone else.

What the book is about

The starting point is a suspicion: the four-circle diagram attributed to ikigai describes what we do, but leaves out where we do it from. You can have a clear direction and still feel far from yourself.

The book proposes looking at two dimensions together:

  • Active Ikigai: what you build, do and contribute.
  • Conscious Ikigai: the presence and coherence with which you live what you do.

This distinction is Manel Rueda’s own elaboration, not a Japanese tradition. It’s the perspective that holds IKIGAIER up: learning to bring doing and being together.

If you’d like the context first, you can read the guide on what ikigai is.

Who it’s written for

For anyone who feels something doesn’t fit even though everything seems to be going well. For anyone who has spent years meeting expectations and wants to listen to themselves again. And for anyone who already knows the ikigai diagram and was left feeling something was missing.

The proposal is to look more honestly at the relationship between what you do and who you are, without formulas that promise to fix your life.

After reading, keep walking

The workbook Camina sin separarte de ti turns this perspective into questions and exercises to write by hand.

If you want to live it in a group, the book gave rise to the in-person workshop I am IKIGAIER: four hours to listen to yourself, recognise what matters now and choose a first step.

If you want to start before reading, the ikigai test, an honest inventory, comes from this book’s exercises: free, no sign-up, with a reading of your Active Ikigai and your Conscious Ikigai.
